We had a genuinely great time on this charter, and I want to start there because it deserves to be said. The captain and crew were fantastic—professional, friendly, and clearly experienced. The trip itself was a lot of fun, and overall it was one of the better charter experiences we’ve had.
That said, the main reason we chose (and paid significantly more for) this charter was the advertised fish retention policy. We confirmed this in advance, so it was frustrating to find out during/after the trip that we weren’t able to keep the fish we caught. That part felt misleading and honestly left a bit of a sour note on an otherwise great day.
We did end up receiving a single piece of the tail only after asking, but it didn’t really match expectations based on what was communicated ahead of time. If we had known this upfront, we likely would have made a different booking decision.
I’m sharing this not to take away from the positives—because there were many—but to give honest feedback for future guests. With clearer communication around the fish policy, this would easily be a 5-star experience.
Overall: great crew, great time, but important details need to better align with what’s advertised, especially when paying nearly $2500, and the boat keeps your catch.
