Captain Jon was fantastic! This trip was for my birthday and it couldn’t have been a better experience for our first fishing charter. He was incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and very kind. We just caught sharks one after another even though that’s not what we were after, but that’s just how fishing goes sometimes. I would highly recommend fishing with Captain Gumbo — he’s a great dude and a lot of fun to be around. The boat was clean, and the gear was well maintained. I look forward to fishing with Captain Gumbo again in the future.

We had a fun and relaxing time out on the water! Captain Jon was very nice and knowledgeable. The boat was comfortable for us 5 adults, and all of us caught a fish! We heard it was a slow day for fish, but Captain made sure we all had the chance to reel something in. Bring toilet paper if you think you’ll need to use the toilet, and just know it’s tight and low-tech. captain and mate worked hard to put us on Cobia.  as luck would have it we caught several sharks- including a big hammer.  a great memory

We were just visiting and didn’t really want to keep anything. So we went strictly for catch and release.  Caught 10-15 sharks, a large manta ray and a 70-80 lb black tip shark maybe 5 feet long.  It was a good way to spend 4 hours.
