Captain Rich made this trip an amazing experience from start to finish. We started right on time, and there were only four of us on the boat besides Captain Rich, which made the trip feel very personal.
For me, choosing a fishing charter is really about the captain, his experience, his knowledge of the water, and how he makes the day feel. Going with Captain Rich was an experience in itself. He knows exactly where to go and where the fish are. In our case, we were fishing for salmon, and he took us straight to the right spots.
The fishing was phenomenal. It felt like almost every time we dropped a line, something was happening. I caught four salmon myself. Two were kings that had to be released because they weren’t in season, and I kept two beautiful coho. This was my very first time salmon fishing, and I caught my limit so quickly that I eventually just sat back and watched everyone else fish.
Captain Rich was patient, professional, welcoming, and genuinely fun to spend the morning with. We were talking, laughing, and listening to his stories throughout the trip. At the end, he filleted our fish incredibly quickly and professionally, which was the perfect finish to the day.
This trip definitely made me want to continue fishing, and I would absolutely go out with Captain Rich again and again. Highly, highly recommended.
