8 hour with Capt Bobby Smith
We went off shore for 4hours in marginal weather, caught a few false albacore. Came inshore at our request. Fished 4 hours with.no results. Port engine exhaust was excessive and unplesant.
Don Morris sorry you didn't enjoy your trip.The weather was far from marginal for Oregon inlet standards.After s two day blow things cleaned up fairly well, actually prettier than I expected.You didn't go offshore ,you went on an all-day nearshore trip and the furthest we got was about 10 miles.All but 1 boat in our fleet that was booked that day fished in the ocean.You and your crew landed fifteen false albacore in the two hours you were in the productive fishing area,three times what the other boats caught up until we left at your request.We were hoping to locate king mackerel, which the boat that was near us did an hour after we left.If we had stayed I feel confident we would have also. Once inside we went trout fishing and used casting gear.Thsts when angling ability comes into play.I think we only caught two which the mate hooked ,which is the reason I went in the ocean in the first place,because it was our best chance at success. I really wish one of you would have manned up and talked to me about any negative feelings you had about your experience with us, maybe given me a chance to explain any questions or concerns you had,instead of taking only the time to give me a poor review.I take these reviews seriously and as you can see have a very good satisfaction rate.One final thought...as you won't be on my boat again I want to help out you and the next operation in letting you know that the 7 percent tip you handed to my mate is very sub pare.Average tip is 15-20percent.This tip is for mate performance,ability, and likability.My mate that day has been down there for almost twenty years on several boats and Is known as one of the best in the business and does an excellent job by anyone's standards. If you have a problem with any future captain you book,please refrain from taking it out on the mate when you have such a good one. I hope your next fishing trip will be all you are hoping for.
