We had a great time fishing with captain Alicia. I’m glad I talked to her the day prior and be left two hrs earlier than the schedule time bc it was a hot day. We ended up catching a lot of fish for a 6 hrs trip. It was the first time fishing for our family of 5 and everybody loved it. The boat was nice and the first mate was great showing us how to fish and loading our bait. Sad that we were not able to keep any of the red snapper bc they were not in season. Will definitely come back next year.

Started at 6am sharp!  Had a bumpy ride hour and a half out to sea trolling behind.  Got to first stop and caught red snapper right out the hole.  A rain storm hit us so we moved spots.  Next spot produced more undersized red snapper mixed with trigger fish which are not in season (bummer), as we caught quite a few.  Changed spots a couple more times which both produced fish but again undersized.  None the less we, a group of 5, limited out on red snapper in 2 hours.    Decided to do a little trolling for the remainder of our trip and landed a dorado(lost 2) and a few bonita.  Very good time on a little choppy boat.  Highly recommend this guide service

It was a perfect beautiful morning! AJ and Captain showed us great views and an amazing adventure with Spanish makeral!!! We will never forget it! Thank you for a good time guys! We will come back and then you can take us out farther to teach and show us more of the beautiful gulf 😀

The captain became injured a couple of days before our trip. But, she recruited a friend, Ted, whom did a great job. Joe the deck hand was also very helpful and made it very enjoyable. We have a 9 year old and an 11 year old boy and they both had a great time. We actually had only caught 1 fish up until the last 30 minutes or so. Ted kept moving and kept trying different spots until he got us on the fish. Thanks for the great trip guys!

Outstanding trip!  Capt Alicia And Joe were great, the boat was excellent, and the fishing was very good.  We made a stop on the way out to catch bait, and they had our kids pulling them in 4 at a time.  It was a hoot.

After catching bait, Joe put out a couple of trolling rigs on our way to our first spot, and we immediately hooked up on some bonitos.  We also hooked up on something VERY big that my daughter had the joy of fighting.  Unfortunately, she wasn’t able to land it, but it was an awesome experience for her nonetheless.

We started chasing snapper and hit several spots with some moderate success.  We had a good bite on one of our early spots but were unfortunately bested by dolphins.

On our last stop we struck gold.  The bite was on, and we were fighting keeper snapper as fast as we could get bait in the water.  Capt Alicia’s knowledge of the fishery was on point, and Joe worked his butt off to keep us fishing.  I was especially impressed with his light hearted attitude and patience.  We had a couple of novice fishermen in the group, including two kids.  Joe took the mishaps and tangled in stride and stayed supportive and encouraging.

The whole experience was an absolute pleasure, and we came away feeling as though we’d made lifelong friends.  I highly recommend Long Shot Charters and can’t wait to come back.
