Outstanding trip! Capt Alicia And Joe were great, the boat was excellent, and the fishing was very good. We made a stop on the way out to catch bait, and they had our kids pulling them in 4 at a time. It was a hoot.
After catching bait, Joe put out a couple of trolling rigs on our way to our first spot, and we immediately hooked up on some bonitos. We also hooked up on something VERY big that my daughter had the joy of fighting. Unfortunately, she wasn’t able to land it, but it was an awesome experience for her nonetheless.
We started chasing snapper and hit several spots with some moderate success. We had a good bite on one of our early spots but were unfortunately bested by dolphins.
On our last stop we struck gold. The bite was on, and we were fighting keeper snapper as fast as we could get bait in the water. Capt Alicia’s knowledge of the fishery was on point, and Joe worked his butt off to keep us fishing. I was especially impressed with his light hearted attitude and patience. We had a couple of novice fishermen in the group, including two kids. Joe took the mishaps and tangled in stride and stayed supportive and encouraging.
The whole experience was an absolute pleasure, and we came away feeling as though we’d made lifelong friends. I highly recommend Long Shot Charters and can’t wait to come back.
