Had a 3/4 day trip and didn’t get a single bite. I know it’s called fishing for a reason and not catching. However, we basically drove around for hours with squid lures skipping off the top of the water. No live bait, no chumming, or any other fishing techniques. I guess you have to pray the fish find the lures bouncing off the surface. Maybe I just have higher expectations or the fishing in Kona just sucks in general.

Amazing morning half day trip with Captain Steve and Jason.  Hit the 118lb ahi within 40 minutes.  Finished the trip with a short billed spearfish.  Captain and crew were friendly, helpful, and all around awesome.  Thanks for making this special memory for our family!

I completely understand that fish sometimes don’t bite. I grew up in a family of guides and have been on many fishing trips. We booked a half day trip and the guides were nice and it looked like they had nice equipment. We loaded the boat and trolled for 4 hours without seeing anything. It felt rushed at the end as they had another trip right after ours. Our once in a life time fishing trip was a huge let down
