Rain was forecasted. Capt was in constant communication throughout the week as weather forecasts changed. we decided to go out until the came in. Capt took us far enough out to get some action and close enough to get back to dock when the rain came. He took us out and in an hour and a half we smoked em! Great energy on the boat and Capt knows the water.

Captain Steve Himel is one of the best fishing guides I have ever fished with, and I have fished with dozens.  This time I told him I hoped for action and variety, and my goodness did he deliver.  Action?  Check. I caught 25 fish.  Variety? I enjoyed a hot, humid, cloudless summer day in Sportsman’s Paradise on Lake Pontchartrain with Captain Steve.  I said I’d like to catch 5 species of fish, and I did even better: 7. With Steve taking us where the fish were biting, I caught speckled trout, black drum, gafftopsail catfish, croakers, hardhead catfish, white trout, and a big blue catfish.  I only return where the fishing was great the first time.  I’m already planning to go back next year.  I wholeheartedly endorse Captain...
