Great fun short trip

Captain Rick had given us the impression we were going different places to fish.  Ended up spending most of the time in 1 place with several other boats.  Tried 1 other place at the bridge.  Beautiful day but disappointed he didn’t have other spots that he knew would be hot spots.  Caught 3 keepers which he cut up for us.  Would think knowing the area as he claimed wouldn’t have spent so much time in 1 spot
And seemed to not want to go out of his way to make the trip a success with
Catching more fish.  Nice boat. He was personable enough.  There were dead worms on the boat floor that weren’t cleaned out before we came.  Couple of teenagers on boat that his language thought could be more tasteful.  Bottom line is that we really only caught 3 fish in 4 hrs at 1 spot.  Could’ve had more knowledge or at least if he did to try other hot spots.  But didn’t seem to offer them up either cause he didn’t know where they were or didn’t
Want to go there for some reason.  A lot of money to catch 3 fish and not try harder too see if biting elsewhere.

Although Captain Rick was friendly and polite his customer service could use a little help. First when we got to the boat, the Captain didn’t say two words. Once we were fishing, I noticed the rod I was using had 30yds of line on it at best. It was lite tackle therefore, if I hooked anything it would have stripped the reel. I mentioned this to the Captain Rick, and he just laughed. Several of the reel combos were junk. Then the Captains brother showed up and Captain Rick bummed a cigarette, and his brother’s boat crashed into ours. This broke the GPS electric anchor on the front of the boat. So this caused used to have to Leave the reef and head in shore. While en route in shore we saw some Mackeral working the surface. Captain Rick was not very interested in getting his customers any fish. You would think he’d have poppers or diamond jigs. And he would try to keep you near the frenzy of fish? Nope!!! He had one old rusted box of terminal tackle. And he never offered any tackle alternatives. After wasting time doing nothing we went to fish the pilings under the bridge. This is the only place Captain Rick somewhat redeemed himself. He worked hard to keep us in position, but was still very hands off on any assistance.  All in all not a bad guy, but if customer service is what your looking for…  look elsewhere!!!

We practically paid for a very expensive boat ride. We drove around on the water for about 3 hrs and fished for an hour. We only caught one small 16 inch keeper fish. We went out “ looking” for bigger fish and it took almost an hour to get there and as soon as we got there the captain didn’t even let one person cast and said we were running out of time and had to head back! About ruined me for offshore fishing.
