We scheduled a 4 hour inshore fishing trip with East Pass Inshore Charters on 03/07/19. This was the last item on our vacation checklist. The captain was on time the boat was clean and everything was rigged up and ready to go. We started by fishing for sheepshead under a bridge in the bay. The captain did a good job of trying to excite the fish by scrapping off old barnacles from the bridge pylons and chumming the water with left over oyster bits. He also made sure to keep bait on all of our hooks at all times. Two members of our party of four missed fish at this location however we did land a large stone crab. After hanging out under the bridge for what seemed like an hour we moved further into the bay. The actual elapsed time could have been more or less that’s a best estimate based on recollection. We went through the bay for a distance that seemed like 5-6 miles. I’m sure it was less than that but during that time we passed through several lengthy no wake zones. When we finally got to where we were going we fished around some dilapidated docks that had been abandoned due to storm damage. These docks are where we caught the red fish you see in the picture above. This was one of two fish landed during our trip the other a sheepshead too small to keep. The two way trip into the bay really cuts down on the total fishing time on a four hour trip. That was my only real gripe about the charter. Overall I felt like the captain had good knowledge of the area and tried his best to put us on fish. I would give it another shot during the peak season and expect that the results would be much different.

Our Captain gave us the best opportunities to catch fish with very poor conditions. Lots of storms all week and the surf was extremely rough. We tried several different species.

Captain Jonathan had everything ready when we arrived and we were fishing within 20 minutes of hitting the water.  Great day, he had us on fish for most of the morning.
