Bad. Do yourself a favor and pick a different charter
Captain called the day before saying we could come as early as 8:30. We arrived at 8:00. He didn’t show up until well after 9:00. Said he had trouble getting bait. Really? None of the other charters heading out of the same marina had that problem. Finally started heading out and his exact words were “golden rule of fishing - you don’t go looking for fish after you’ve found the fish.” So we’re in a spot catching fish ( small but still catching them) he decides without asking our input just to leave that area to go to a “ great spot” with absolutely NO fish. Do yourself a favor and pick a different fishing charter if you want to actually catch and keep fish. Otherwise it’s just a glorified boat ride.
Paul, I'm sorry to see such a review as I strive for everyone to have an enjoyable experience out with us. However, I did indeed say I would probably be at the boat ramp around 8:30 but we did not change the trip time to 8:30 or 8:00. We were still scheduled for 9:00 which was stated upon that phone call and I arrived at 9:05. I apologized then and I'll apologize again for my tardiness but as stated bait was harder to get than usual, and took me a few minutes longer than anticipated. I did reach out about 8:30 and make your group aware that I was going to be a few minutes late. Once again I am sorry for that, as I do pride myself on being punctual. Secondly, we were catching fish at the first location but as you stated, they were all quite small and as you guys had said you were looking for some keeper red grouper so I made the decision to run out farther in the gulf (costing us more in fuel) to try and get on those fish for you guys and once we got there I do recall more than a handful of nice fish being broken off.
