Jose and his son Andy have great energy and were an absolute pleasure to be on the water with. You can tell he loves to fish and wants you to catch. His boat is very clean and well kept and has everything needed. Since I had the wife and kids with me, we only went for half day with our main goal to catch fish for some meals which we were successful at. We tried a bit for rooster since I had never gone for one and had a hit but didnโt get it. The kids were thrilled to see the dolphins and turtles which Jose recognized right away and circled around so they swam along beside the boat. We didnโt catch big numbers but did catch barracuda, pompano, jack, mahi-mahi, and a small Spanish mackerel that we cut up for bait. Itโs crazy how many bites you get and bait you go through figuring out the right technique to hook up๐ I brought a heavy ice fishing rod out for the kids to use to help catch bait at the start of the day and they loved it. I made sushi with the mahi-mahi which was delicious! I will for sure be booking Jose for more days on the water the next time Iโm down in Puerto Jimenez!
