Knotty Girl Charter Fishing is located in the Historic Maritime Port of Ludington. From May through October, we fish for salmon and trout species on Lake Michigan. We offer 6 hour morning and afternoon charters, accommodating up to 6 people max. All trips include the use of rods, reels, tackle, lures, as well as your catch properly filleted and bagged for you to take home. We ask you to provide your own food/snacks, beverages, sweatshirt/jacket, valid Michigan fishing license, and a cooler for your catch after cleaning.
The boat, 'Knotty Girl III' is a 1993 Tiara 4300 Open. She's something special and is completely outfitted for what we do. This vessel is powered by a pair of 550 H.P. turbocharged Detroit Diesels and features the latest Raymarine electronics as well as all safety equipment. Knotty Girl III boasts a spacious bathroom and has plenty of cabin room for personal belongings.
Operating with a first mate, we possess a wealth of knowledge. Onboard this vessel the professionalism will not go unnoticed.

Had a great trip with Captain Steve and first mate Brad this past Saturday. They were awesome and worked very hard to get us on fish and try whatever it took to catch some salmon. The boat was incredibly clean and in great shape and you can tell they take pride in their work and their equipment and boat. The weather was good however the previous day it had stormed and so the fish were turned off and not biting very well but Captain Steve and Brad worked very hard and did get us on some fish and we were able to take home some nice fillets including King and Coho and steelhead. Obviously we always hope to catch more but considering all the circumstances, could not have went any better. Highly recommend the Knotty Girl and Captain Steve and Brad for your fishing trip in Ludington.
Captain Steven and Brad were amazing from the start. By greeting my family which includes a 3 1/2 year old. The boat was so clean. They made sure we caught a lot of fish and the water was so calm. We was so blessed that day. I definitely would recommend you taking his charter again. We are going to book with him again. We live in Florida so Captain Steve is shipping our fish to us. Thank you much for the best trip ever.
We hit the morning off strong catching 12 of our 15 limit within the first two hours. It was getting hectic on the boat and about the time we turned around to get back to the fish they were biting away! I would recommend this to everybody, they have everything you need on board. Every season I’ll be coming back to fill the freezer. Thanks a lot you guys!
Beyond a shadow of a doubt I would recommend this Charter to everyone.
While the fish didn't cooperate, captain Steve and mate Bob, put up a valiant effort to find them. Lots of lure changes and water coverage. Grand kids experienced the thrill of bringing in a beast. While catching fish was part of it, time spent with family, good people, on the water on a beautiful day was the experience we looked for. We got that from "Knotty Girl "
