Well-rounded fisheries are hard to come by these days, which is exactly why Fajardo's diverse fishing potential is so enticing to vacationing anglers. Billfish fan? The notorious Puerto Rico trench - affectionately nicknamed 'Marlin Alley' - lies only a few miles from the dock, responsible for countless Marlin, Sailfish and even Spearfish bites reported all year round. Looking to wet your favorite fly? Fajardo is a well known hub for inshore grand slams, with Tarpon, Snook and Bonefish hotspots all within a short run from the city's marinas. Finally, ample Dorado and Blackfin Tuna schools are a dream come true for anyone searching for some quality light tackle action, with a variety of Snappers, Groupers and many others making sure bottom fishermen aren't to be disappointed either!

Rules & Regulations

Anglers fishing aboard a charter boat do not require a recreational fishing license while they are fishing with the owner of that vessel. Fishing for Bonefish and Tarpon is done on a strict catch and release basis. The limit for Dorado, Wahoo or Mackerel is five of each species per angler daily, or 20 fish or less per vessel daily - whichever is less.
