Top Fishing Charters in Madeira Beach

Madeira Beach is the archetypal Gulf Coast beach town, with white sandy shores, clear warm waters, and superb fishing. And if you’re not sure where to cast your line, you’ll have plenty of Madeira Beach fishing charters to lead the way. From Boca Ciega Bay to the Gulf of Mexico, you’ll enjoy a great bite wherever you go.
Look for Redfish, Spotted Seatrout, Permit, Flounder, and Sheepshead on the flats, and don’t forget about Snook and Bonefish. From May–July, head to Tampa Bay and enjoy excellent Tarpon action that might land you a trophy.
Head out through John’s Pass and into the Gulf to fish the nearshore reefs, brimming with Snapper, Grouper, Porgy, Grunt, Tripletail, and Hogfish. Deep sea fishing here is different to what you might expect. You’ll travel 30–100 miles out, and your main target will be huge bottom fish. A wide array of big Grouper and Snapper are all on the menu. Want more? Trolling for Mahi Mahi, Sailfish, and Blackfin Tuna never gets dull.
Local captains have been guiding trips for years, so saying they’re experts is an understatement. Half day trips are perfect for a relaxed and productive day out with your family and friends. Full day expeditions that will take you well into federal waters are the best fit for anglers in the mood for catching something impressive.
Whether you’re organizing an active vacation, or you’re looking to get your fill of top-notch fishing, Madeira Beach should be at the top of your list!

Rules & Regulations

Fishing licenses are not required aboard registered Madeira Beach fishing charters. Seasonality for different species changes year on year and is different in state and federal waters, so check with your captain when would be the best time to target a particular species. If you’re fishing solo, know that you’re in charge of buying your own license ahead of time.

January kicks off the Madeira Beach tournament season with the Johnny Kellar Inshore Fishing Tournament. Battle a variety of species at this fun charity event. The prizes may be small, but the fish sure aren't.
February is a great time to hit the flats around Madeira Beach. The weather is cool and dry, making for awesome sight casting. Redfish and Trout top the list, with plenty of Snook and some Tarpon, too.
Redfish, Trout and much more fill the shallows in March. Want something bigger? Head out in search of huge bottom fish. Did we mention there's no closed season on Scamp and Snowy Grouper?
The Old Salt King of the Beach is one of the biggest competitions of the year. Sign up and find out how big your King and Spanish Mackerel can be. Meanwhile, Tarpon are showing up in great numbers in the bay!
The Tarpon frenzy is in full swing in May, and the Silver Kings aren't the only fish in town. A ton of Snook, Permit, Redfish, and Trout will put inshore anglers through their paces.
There's only one thing on everyone's mind in June: the Red Snapper season is here! Head out to the reefs for huge hauls of Snapper and Grouper, with the chance to catch Sailfish and Tuna on the troll.
You'd better make room in the freezer come July. Red, Mutton, Lane, and Yellowtail Snapper are swarming the reefs, as are Red, Black, and Gag Grouper. Get ready for memorable fishing times and a feast right after!
Hit the reefs for a ton of tasty table fare or stay inshore to battle Jacks, Redfish, Permit, and Tarpon. More than 30 miles offshore, Mahi Mahi are peaking, making deep sea trips even more productive.
The Old Salt Loop Billfishing Tournament challenges anglers to land the biggest Mahi Mahi, Wahoo, Tuna, and Sailfish as part of the Florida West Coast Bluewater Series. Think you've got what it takes?
You can target a huge range of delicious bottom-dwellers in October, from Snapper and Grouper to Porgy and Hogfish. Stay inshore, where you could hook Redfish, Permit, Trout, and Tarpon.
Missed your chance to be the crowned King of the Beach in the spring? No worries! The tournament comes back in November, as do the huge King and Spanish Mackerel during their migration.
If a boatful of delicious fish sounds like your perfect Christmas present, Madeira Beach is the place for you. December is the peak season for Scamp Grouper, one of the tastiest fish in the ocean!
