Make sure that, before you come aboard, you purchase some food and drinks for the duration of the trip.
Reel Lucky OBX Charters is located in Wanchese and offers to show you a memorable time in these waters. Pay it a visit and enjoy a family-friendly fishing trip nearshore. Capt. Marcus, former captain of Virginia Dare out of Pirates Cove for the last three
This nearshore trip allows us to fish for a variety of fish farther from the inlet. You will be looking for Bluefish, Spanish Mackerel, King Mackerel, Amberjack, False Albacore, and Cobia. This trip is a great way to relax and fish all day without having to leave the dock early in the morning. If you are targeting Cobia, this is a recommended trip. Seasonal.
The 3/4 day is a six-hour trip that gives you more time to hunt on the water without taking up the whole day and may include inshore live bait fishing for Sharks, sight fishing for Cobia, or bottom fishing nearshore wrecks where Triggerfish and Seabass hide depending on what's happening that time of year.
We will start the morning catching bait. Then take a one-hour ride to the tower to start catching amber jacks. These guys pull like donkeys! It is a really good fight. With the remaining time we will troll closer to the inlet to completely fill that fish box!
With this trip the leave time can be changed; please just send us a message to do that we can accommodate whatever works best for you!
On this 6-hour trip, you'll go out to no more than 5 miles in the ocean, which will depend on the weather. You'll head out to catch Amberjack, Triggerfish King Mackerel, Spanish Mackerel, Bluefish, and other ones that swim around. You'll have more time for fishing, gear on board, and a professional crew.
This trip we fish in the ocean or sound depending on the weather at the current time

Great day of inshore fishing with Southbound Charters and Capt. Chris. We caught a mix bag of sheep’s head, bluefish, Spanish mackerel, speckled trout, and one decent 40 inch Cobia. We had several opportunities to get on Cobia and even lost a one due to a novice fisherman. Had a great day altogether, would fish with Capt Chris again and fully recommend him anyone no matter what your experience level.
Tom was on top of the game, we caught several Cobia and Red Drum, man was that fun. Guys took there time and actually fished over the time bc we ran into some on way in. Awesome trip and would highly recommend Chasin Tyde Charters for and great family time fishing. Will see you again next yr. Thanks guys
Beautiful new boat, great captain and mate. And I mean great. We were suppose to be offshore but weather was not cooperating. Instead Captain Seth got us out near shore and we had a fantastic day catching Cobia. Got our limit and caught a few more to throw back to keep the day going. Can't recommend Artemis highly enough. We've been coming down to OBX for almost thirty years and this was one of our best trips. Thanks to Seth and Graham.
Great trip searching for Cobia! Caught three, not bad for a short trip! Tom & Tom did a great job of making sure we were comfortable during the entire trip. They were tireless in their efforts to locate the fish and put us on them. They have a beautiful boat that is well maintained. You can tell it's their pride and joy! Thanks for a great day!
Booked bottom/trolling trip Capt. Jeremy called day before and said it would be really hard to bottom with the weather but we could still try. With his advice we opted for inshore fishing, we catch some nice sea bass and a cobia. Jeremy is very knowledgeable and worked to try get our limit of cobia and Tucker was awesome. Me and my crew had a good time with you guys.
