Nanaimo Crab Fishing Charters

While many species of fish such as Lingcod and other species of ground fish (rock cod) are closed during this time, the Chinook Fishery remains open. Catch limit is 2 per angler. The trip price includes taxes.

This trip includes all bait and tackle. You will fish the waters of Nanaimo that are most productive during the months of April and May for Chinook Salmon. Captain will also drop crab traps for some bonus Dungeness Crabs.

This afternoon outing will take you out on the waters of British Columbia. You will be targeting Chinook Salmon and Coho Salmon, with the hopes of hooking into a trophy Chinook over 20 pounds! The gear is furnished onboard, and you will have lures, and bait at your disposal. Bring a salt water fishing licence, snacks, drinks, sunglasses, and a camera.

The half-day trip will be 4 to 5 hours. In the time that we have on the water, we will drop some Crab traps close to the fishing grounds. Then we will go do some trolling for Salmon. If time allows it we also might try and target some Lingcod and Rock Cod. Fishing off the bottom jigging for those species is the most productive way to catch them. Very short boat rides to fishing grounds to maximize fishing time.

Start your trip off by setting up a Crab trap or a few Shrimp pots, then head off for some Salmon. Salmon don't wanna bite today? Let's catch some Rockfish! Lingcod and Snapper are always tasty! Returning to the harbor we can pick up the Shrimp and/or Crab pots we dropped earlier in the day. The adventure is yours, let me be your guide!

A full day out of Ladysmith is a blast! On our trip, we'll head out of the Ladysmith boat launch. It's a 15-minute boat ride to where we will set Crab traps for Dungeness Crab. Then we'll take a 5-minute boat ride to set Prawn traps. We're targeting spot Prawns. We catch lots of cool creatures in our traps, so it's great for kids. After all the traps are set, we'll go target Winter Chinook Salmon not far from where we set our traps. We will most likely have 2–4 hours of fishing for winter chinook.

Wanting to catch the evening bite these time are very productive and popular. Nothing like being out on the water and watching the sun set Lots of larger Chinook salmon around and is only getting better over the next month and a half. This is the Perfect trip with the kids.

Once we leave the dock you choose! We want you to have the best day possible so it's completely up to you how we spend the day. If you want to fish all day, no problem. If you want to sightsee, we can do that. If dropping anchor and relaxing in a quiet cove, swimming, and having lunch is more what you are after... we can do that too. Bottom line, it's up to you! Price includes all taxes and fees, max 4 people per trip.
