Avalon Halibut Fishing Charters

Fish the local coast of Orange County with its reefs, man-made structures, kelp beds, and points. Trips are anywhere around where the fish are biting. Favorite spot is the Santa Ana River Jetty and Newport Artificial Reef, both are famous for very large White Seabass, Yellowtail, and Halibut. Calico Bass pretty much live at all these spots and are really fun to reel in. The bonus side to this trip is that your fishing time is maximized.

This trip will take you up to 25 miles offshore. You will target a range of species, including Yellowfin Tuna, Seabass, and Barracuda. Snacks and drinks are included, so you just have to bring along yourself and plenty of sunscreen.

You and the captain will start fishing in the first 5-10 minutes after you depart. The techniques you can use to catch include trolling, bait fishing, drifting, bottom fishing, spearfishing, and more. The trip starts at 7:00 a.m. and lasts for 8 hours.

Head out to offshore grounds and fish for Bluefin Tuna, Yellowfin Tuna, Mahi Mahi, Yellowtail, and more!

Fishing outside the break wall up to 10 miles out to target Bass, Rockfish, Sculpin, Sheepshead, Barracuda, Halibut, and if lucky, you can get Yellowtail on summer days. Customers 16+ must purchase a California fishing license prior to the trip. Please take care of your crew, they will provide you with the best customer service, 20-25% is the average tip. Fishing outside the harbor usually 2-6 miles out at the rockpiles and kelp line for Calico Bass and local shallow water Rockfish.

This trip can consist of a 6-hour day for Bass,Rockfish, Barracuda, and whats biting inshore given the season. Fishing has been amazing close to home!
