Join Captain Richard for a real Trout fishing adventure on Lake Taupo. The boat is hired at an hourly rate of $200.00 per hour for the boat, meaning that longer trips can be arranged if that's what you'd like. Rods, reels, and terminal tackle are included in the price. Use the morning hours to get some nice Trout. Lake Taupo is spectacular, and fishing for Trout here is addictive, for both novice anglers and those more experienced. The crew will go an extra mile to make your trip memorable. You will get all the fishing tackle and can try deep trolling with downriggers, harling or jigging. Just pack food and drinks, a cap, sunglasses, and a camera. Captain can provide you with fishing licenses at $25 per adult angler or $5 for a child angler extra fee.

A little more time on the Lake Taupo waters never hurt anyone, and on this 3-hour trip, you get to venture further out into the lake and catch Trout. If the weather is good, Capt. Marty will take you to the extraordinary Maori rock carvings. Departure time is flexible and you are welcome to bring snacks and drinks. Have day licences on board so can complete as we go out.

Two-hour trip that starts at 9.00 a.m.

This is a great introduction to Trout Fishing on Lake Taupo. Especially if you're a first time angler, this is a perfect way to get hooked. This trip includes fishing rods and tackle/lures/fly’s, experienced crew, and drinks.

Come shallow trolling on lake Rotorua for Rainbow and Brown Trout. Depending on the day, how many people on board and time of the year there are options to fly fish or soft bait to cruising Browns. Fish average 3.5lb for Rainbows and 6lb for Browns with 85% Rainbow and 15% Brown.

The day may start around 7am where you will meet with the captain. You would have discussed the venue, licence, and gear requirements the night before. We will travel to the lake, set up the boat and fish for the day. Usually be back to Taupo about 4-5pm. This gives you around 6 hours on the water. I provide snacks, lunch, and drinks, and fly fishing gear should you need it.
