Climb aboard and channel your inner Quint, and join us on the hunt for jaws! On this trip we will chum the waters to lure in these black eyed beasts, and set out our lines using 'piano wire' leaders with heavy duty shark hooks . Equipped with the heaviest tackle and our XL fisherman's outfitter rods, you can try your hand at battling some of the biggest predators these waters have to offer. Some of the species we may encounter include, porbeagle shark, thresher shark, blue shark, and mako. Plus many more!

Mid summer through October is prime time for shark fishing out of Gloucester. Porbeagle sharks up to 500 pounds, giant Thresher, Blue Sharks and Makos are all common around this time. You can do battle with these strong fighting fish on standup gear, full sized tuna rods or even light tackle.Some species are excellent for eating and can be processed for you to take home. Tuna is the ultimate prize for Northeast Anglers, known for their exceptional strength and delicious flavor. The fishing in recent years has been outstanding. These trips tend to start early, depending on tides, involve a 60-120 minute run to the grounds, and last approximately 10-12 hours. Due to government regulations, any tuna over 73" must either be sold commercially or released. Captain Moore offers up to 50% off the trip if a tuna caught on your trip is sold commercially.

After departing from the harbor, we'll steam several miles offshore to prime shark grounds where the Gulf of Maine drops into deeper, colder water. On these trips we often encounter blue sharks, porbeagle sharks, a close cousin of the mako; or the dramatic, long-tailed thresher shark, famous for its acrobatic leaps and tail-whipping power.

To target Bluefin Tuna, Sharks, groundfish, or Whale watching, requires a longer run to offshore banks. These trips typically require a 45 – 60 minute run to the fishing grounds, and become much more dependent upon favorable weather patterns. However, when conditions are right, offshore trips offer a whole new world of opportunity. Because of the longer run, a 6-hour trip is a minimum, with 8 hours being the norm, and 10 hrs a norm for serious tuna fishing
