Barataria Sheepshead Fishing Charters

Afternoon trip departs approx. 2:00 p.m. and returns before dark. During winter months the starting time is based upon the sunset, you'll depart around 4-5 hours before dusk. This amazing morning trip will take you fishing the bays and bayous of Jean Lafitte only 40 minutes from New Orleans. You'll be chasing Redfish, Black Drum, Sheepshead, and Speckled Trout. Enjoy the beautiful scenery and wildlife, from alligators to a variety of local birds.

You'll target Redfish, Sheepshead, and Speckled Trout in lakes, bays, and canals. Fish using bottom rigs, corks, tight lines, gold spoons, fresh shrimp, plastics, spinnerbaits, and chatterbaits. In spring and summer, live bait like shrimp, croakers, and minnows work great. Summer trips include big lakes and beaches where you can catch Trout, Redfish, and Flounder. Spring and summer are perfect for beach fishing adventures too.

Early bird gets the worm

The departure time may vary depending on the season and daylight. The captain will provide you with all necessary updates.

Special LED lights penetrate the stained waters allowing you to see the fish before shooting them with a bow and arrow. All bows are equipped with AMS bottle reels for easy arrow retrieval. Fish cleaning and bagging is included.

Half Day morning trips depart from Joe's Landing Marina at Sunrise. During these trips, we will explore the marshes of south Louisiana in search of a multitude of species that our fishery has to offer. These trips usually last until around noon or until daily bag limits are reached. All gear, tackle, and bait will be provided. Feel free to bring whatever snacks, drinks, or alcohol that you would like to have for your trip. Upon return, your catch will be cleaned up and bagged.
