Snook Fishing in West Palm Beach

Snook fishing in West Palm Beach will open your eyes to a world you could have only dreamed of. Along the shallows of the Intracoastal Waterway, you’ll discover tough-fighting, monster Snook. A must for any keen angler, these warm waters will leave you wanting more and wondering how you ever fished anywhere else!

What to Expect

The largest Snook caught in Florida was along the Atlantic Coast in August 2015. Weighing in at over 45 pounds, the beast is a sign of what you’ll be going for when fishing this inlet of Southwest Florida.

It takes a lot to hook a Snook. These spooky creatures will flee at the sign of any danger, so creep up quietly to catch them off-guard. Like a hunter, you’ll need to use plenty of skill along these calm waters as you let your bait drift downstream to the hungry, yet nervous fish.

The shallow waters make an ideal location for beginners to fish, but the strength required to land a Snook is more suited to seasoned anglers. First-timers may be better suited to four-hour trips to test the waters, while the more experienced among you can go for six or eight hours.

How to Prepare

Snook are very susceptible to cold waters, so your best bet is to arrange a trip in summertime. From March through September, you’ll find scores of these exciting creatures across the bay, so get ready for a thrilling trip.

Aboard a light vessel such as a bay boat, you’ll navigate the shallow waters with ease. Your captain will provide rods and reels, and all the lures or bait you’ll need for a productive day out. Make sure to protect against the elements with shades and sunscreen, bring some food and drinks aboard, and make the most of your Snook fishing charter in West Palm Beach, FL.

Captain Phil and Nick were great. They put us on our first sail fish and it was a monster. We had some hits from King fish, snook, a mystery fish, and landed a shark. They were very personable and good teachers. This was a trip that our family will never forget!
