We booked the 6 hour trip and fished mostly the north part of the bay near Punta Mita. Our two deckhands were extremely friendly and helpful. It took about 45 mins to get to the fishing grounds. Then we started trolling. 100% of the fishing was trolling with artificials. As soon as there was a bite, the deck hands hand you the rod and you reel in the fish. Eric and Sammy were awesome. Put us on fish almost immediately!! We ended up with 13 fish overall. We had a much better experience than in years past with previous guides. They did everything they could to put us on big fish. Sammy made some of the best ceviche from fresh caught Spanish mackerel that I’ve ever had. Fantastic day on the water with the Calypso crew. Great communication before, during, and after. Top notch gear, comfortable boat, and a crew that just felt fishy. We worked hard and were included in the team to stay around fish all day. A catch-and-release sail and hot mahi action will be great memories forever. If you can, book the longer trips to give the captain more time to find the right water and hungry fish. Already looking forward to booking again!

I did my research and (wisely) chose Calypso II. We had a fantastic day of fishing and a great 6 hours with Ariel and Eric. Ariel repeatedly put us on top of huge Crevalle Jack fish while the boats around us mostly watched us reel them in. The boat was immaculately clean and the crew are very friendly and easy-going. The bathroom is clean and works fine if you need it. All around a great trip and I highly recommend this crew to anyone.

Booked a 6 hour trip with Calypso 1 and had a great time with the crew.  Got a chance to see some whales and dolphins as well as catch a some fish.  Crew was great and provided a fun time.  Only draw back was having to pay an extra fee to go out to a fishing site that was further away eventhough it was still a six hour trip. It felt like we were being up sold a bit.
