Sometimes the best advice is the simplest. “enjoy your fish”- Captain Jorge. Simple words, but it seemed to be his overall philosophy. We had a slow start to the day but Captain Jorge and Eduardo never gave up, keeping spirits up and eventually getting us some great action with some fierce Jack Crevalles. I wouldn’t hesitate to use Captain Jorge again. He’s an amazing captain and with him in your corner you’ll have your best shot at getting your dream fish.

We had heard from another boat that for the best fishing, extend the 4 hour trip to 6 hours so to catch fish near the Marietas islands.  The captain quickly agreed.  The three of us caught at least 4 albacore tuna each, and so our family of 8 had tuna all week!  The captain helped us with technique and was patient with us when needed.  The equipment was great.  A Great day overall, and id recommend 6 hours for a higher probability of success.  Finally the whale watching was an extra bonus!

Our party of 4 - 2 men and 2 women - had a glorious day in both the bay and out into the big ocean.  Not only did we catch 16 fish, including tuna and yellowtail, but we saw several pods of whales and dolphins along with giant sea turtles and many species of sea birds.  Captain Jorge and mate David couldn’t have been more accommodating or knowledgeable.  This is the 2nd year we have gone out on the Valeria, and we plan to do it again next year.

Four of us took a four hour morning charter from the Los Peines Marina on the Valeria I. We had set up for a couple days previously, but due to illness we needed to cancel at the very last minute. Captain Jorge was kind enough to suggest rescheduling for two days later and it worked out perfect for us.  The crew who took us out were entertaining and experienced. Captain Jorge made this trip even better than expected. He is awesome!!! Our trip was part fishing, part sightseeing-adventure (snorkeling, waterfalls, etc.) For fishing, our entire group caught something. We hooked into a couple big ones too but lost them. Captain Jorge is extremely knowledgable about fishing and many other things. He helped us get horses to trek to the waterfall; he even walked the entire way with us.
