Captain Brent and Rooster were great hosts and guides for our 6-hour charter. From being called by Brent as soon as we booked nearly 6 months ago to talking to Brent a few days before - he was responsive and attentive throughout. It was our first time sport fishing and we will definitely do it again, with them, the next time we come to Kona. Some might consider the best part of the trip being the opportunity to reel in the blue marlin not ten minutes out of the harbor first thing this morning, but really the entire trip was memorable and fun. My husband and I definitely recommend this company and will go with them again.

You can tell how good your Charter is when you don’t catch. We didn’t even get bit and I cannot recommend Reel Escapes and Cpt. Brent more!

We are a family of 4, 2 kids 11/13 from the Midwest. I’ve done my share of charters around the world, not a ton, but fishing is what I know and love. Cpt. Brent and his Deckhand Logan were top notch fishermen, hosts and humans!

From the very second I booked on FishingBooker.com, I get a call from Brent saying he got the booking and wanted to just say “Hi” and chatted a bit with me. Totally unexpected and great service. We booked the a.m. 5-hour charter and from the second we got there and even after the friendliness and service was amazing. Our goal was to get the kids bit and have some excitement and make memories. We did all of that except getting bit, but not for lack of effort by Cpt Brent and Logan. They both were amazing in prepping us and explaining the finer details of fishing and Hawaii in general. They were amazing with the kids, keeping them engaged and excited can be hard when the fish don’t cooperate, and they succeeded amazingly. We saw a humpback, pilot whales a few dolphins and learned a ton about fishing/Kona/Hawaii. He let my son drive a bit on the way back to the harbor and it was a highlight of his for sure. Now we had no expectations of going over our time on the water, but it happened that we did and I know he was really trying to get us that one hook up. Much appreciated!! I have never had a Cpt. Of a charter be so accommodating and willing to just share his knowledge like Cpt. Brent. He even has an itinerary to help you see some highlights of the big island he was willing to share after the tour and told us to reach out anytime if we had questions on our visit. I know we will be back to the Big Island and first on our list when we do come back is to book more fishing with Reel Escapes and Cpt. Brent. It will be a core memory for us and it the hospitality we received will never go unappreciated!

You could not ask for a better fishing charter. The captain and crew are extremely knowledgable and capable. If there are fish out there to be caught, Reel Escapes will put you on them. My son caught a huge spearfish. The crew expertly brought it into the boat and it made for an incredible memory for my son. In addition, the boat was new, immaculately clean, comfortable, and safe. The captain and his crew took safety very seriously. Again you couldn’t ask for a better charter and we can’t wait to go back and catch some more fish!

Took my daughter fishing for her 21st birthday and had a blast. Everyone made us feel relaxed and welcomed. Captain Brent was great and very informative with both fishing and The Big Island. TJ the deck hand was awsome and funny. My daughter caught a Shortbill spearfish. Captain Brent suggested for us to take the fish to Ocean seafood and Chinese restaurant. They cooked if 5 ways and was delicious. I would highly recommend booking the Reel Escape if you’re on the Big Island and want to make a core memory.  100% Highly Recommend!!!

We had a great day of fishing named kona and was able to catch a few great fish. The captain and crew were great. People who enjoy their job and want to make sure that their guests have a wonderful time.  The fishing equipment was very nice and worked well along with the boat.  Win on a five hour fishing trip and was able to catch two fish and sorry to say one larger one that got away.  The crew was very helpful, making sure we understood what we had to do and had a great time with them.  Definitely would recommend them.
