We took a 5-hr morning trip with Capt Matt and had a blast. Didn’t catch any fish but didn’t stop us from having a good time. Matt was really fun to talk to and had lots of good stories. It’s just been a down year for fishing the North Shore altogether and Matt did everything in his power to put us on some Ono, but we can force the fish to bite. Still a 10/10 trip and absolutely will be booking with Lucky Lass again the next time we’re in Hawaii!

Matt will be my go to guide for all fishing trips on the island. Fishing out of Haleiwa is the way to go. Not only do we always catch fish, but we see tons of amazing wildlife every time I’ve gone with him. The Lucky Lass is hands down best bang for your buck excursion available.

Matt was upfront about the fishing conditions… hit or miss. We caught a handful of baitfish, then we got skunked. Unfortunately it’s a possibility and a big bummer, but you can’t catch a fish from the couch. Smaller boat, seas were a little rough when we went out, would recommend… sucks we didn’t catch anything. Matt and his son were good to deal with.

Was my first ever fishing charter and first time fishing in salt water. Matt was super awesome. Told me everything I needed to know and answered any questions I had. Started with catching a bunch of bait fish, which was fun in itself. And then Ended up catching an awesome mahi mahi. I will definitely be booking again if I come back, and I would suggest anyone else to book this!!!
