What would you recommend to anglers fishing in East Lyme, Connecticut for the first time?

Fish in the summer if you can. I was there in mid-November to visit my grandson at UConn, very late in the season.

Bring lots of water in the summertime and get ready to have an arm workout! If in season, the bluefish by the race bite like wildfire.

the race has an interesting underwater topography that makes it a great fishery, and like any saltwater fishing, you’ll hafta be ready for some waves, but nothing too serious.
