Bring a towel, sunglasses, hat, sunscreen, food. They have drinks and fruit. You cannot wear your shoes with sand on the boat so if you want to fish in shoes bring another pair. Not sure if there is a bathroom on boat but I doubt it.

Don't waste your money unless the captain has caught fish the previous days or week and make sure he knows what fish to target for you and make sure they have caught lots recently.
Ask if he has electronics.

The options are endless but I had only one species as my target fish. Be advised that it is difficult to fish during the rainy season but we managed to make a successful day out of very difficult conditions!
Let your captain know ahead of time what your preferred target fish are. Listen to what he recommends— he is the one that fishes daily!! Make your plans in advance and enjoy your trip!

Fishing is always an unknown...took a while for us to get some hits, but the crew didn't waste time in areas that weren't working, they moved to other areas and tried other types of lures. They did whatever they could to help us catch some fish. They'll also do as little or as much as you want. We like to cast and reel in ourselves, but if you aren't an accomplished fisherman, they can do everything up to hooking it and then turn it over to you for the hard work!

We were only out for a half day trip, but there were many other boats out there fishing so i assume fishing is typically pretty good.We only caught one fish, but we only a saw a few other fish caught by other boats

Slow fishing with only one fish caught but the fish was what made it great, I’m sure it is better just was a slow day / morning

Patience is a fisherman’s friend. Watch for dolphins…that’s where the tuna are.

Be prepared for being out in the sun all day, and make sure you don't get seasick! It's not a huge boat, so the swells can really get you if you don't have a strong stomach.

I would recommend booking with Juan Carlos Mendez! He knows where the fish are and how to catch them!

Watch the wind. Look at the day prior to your trip and the days of your trip. Try to find a period of consistent weather to avoid rough water and shut down fish.

Gorgeous area and exciting fishing both inland sport and larger beasts further off the coast

The waves are ruff in the morning so if you get motion sick take something before you go
