Fish when you can. Sometimes the fish bite more than others. Captain Emilio is very responsive to messaging through this app so I would ask him directly if you are trying to plan around high fishing times, lunar favorites, etc. He is originally from South Padre Island, Texas so English is his native tongue. He has fished all over the world with very discriminating clients and is well equipped for the novice to the experienced angler.

The strong wind made fishing tough, and eventually we had to cut our day short, the Captain said that was an anomaly for this time of year. But we all know that is fishing, a word to the wise check your weather ahead of booking. This crew was awesome and made the trip in bad weather worth it.

Take Dramamine before you hit the boat even if you have no history of seasickness. All of our group were queasy at best, including myself, and I have been on boats throughout my entire life. Bring a dry bag for your towels and anything else you don’t want wet. Everything got soaked, including us.

With Big Game fish be ready to reel and be patient. Be patient and, take your time. capt said Nov is last good month for really good fishing. Said wind picks up in summer months and water gets to choppy. Go early.. we left at 6am

February fishing is not one of the best fishing months of the year. However, we were in Playa Flamingo for 11 days and went on 3 fishing trips and had really great luck for all 3. February for us turned out great! We brought our own surf poles, but had no luck. I recommend fishing with a local guide.

Offshore may yield better results. We did a 1/2 day inshore and no luck. Mahi Mahi haven’t started coming in close yet.

It was hot and if you have kids make sure your boat has a cabin with AC or a fan. :)

We only set out for sailfish, but we were told that mahi and tuna were in season as well. March is a great time to fish in Costa Rica.

Been on for charters in march so far and both were pretty subpar. Locals tell me fishing is better off shore than inshore supposedly this time of year.

Chase those bill fish. If you have kids you may want to try the inshore trips instead of going offshore.

It was great fishing, lots of sailfish and marlin in the area. Had other species around and caught other species on different days while here.

Go after the big fish deep sea troll as long as it takes because catching one is a lifetime catch Take Dramamine hour before and have some more to take

Make sure the crew knows you are keen on targeting tuna, rooster, jacks, etc. Decline opportunity to bottom fish.

There’s a reason they call it fishing and not catching. Be patient and just enjoy the experience.

Take your catch right next door to the Beach House Bar and Restaurant and they will cook it for you. They also have an outdoor shower across from the entry for a quick rinse.

Schedule a longer day if you are intending to catch something specific! Bring sunscreen and hats/covers too as there is only an little shade on the boat.

Hard to say whether it’s seasonal or just wasn’t our day but I’ve been a couple of times “inshore” and haven’t had incredible success.

Yes. This is not a marina with a pier so know that. You catch a taxi boat from the shore. Fishing is very good in this area.

Great scenery, and good variety for fishing. If you want to catch mahi and billfish book a full day and get out to deeper water.

Go Offshore book on this site, do not book through the hotels. We did that on another trip and it was terrible.
