What would you recommend to anglers fishing in Vero Beach, Florida for the first time?

First to the area, yes for sure. Captain Jeff knows the area extremely well. We fished inshore and he knew right where to go and how to position based on the tides. Also first time fishing, yes as well. Captain Jeff was very understanding and patient and in fact I believe he enjoyed helping the inexperienced in our group with pride and satisfaction of providing a learning experience.

It is worth doing a guided trip at the start of your time here. Captain Jake knew where the fish were likely to be and what works best to catch them. He let us know where to go during the remainder of our trip for fishing.

I would strongly recommend using Capt. Paul services to gain knowledge of the area regarding fishing. He is a very experience fisherman with very good gear and knowledge of the area. And go with his suggestions, he knows way more than what we do. He fishes every day there and he knows the hotspots.

Even though we were told that fishing isn't catching (with no guarantees), we caught the fish we targeted because we managed our expectations, and chartered a boat with the right captain.

I would recommend that you take more than a half-day trip, time flies out there. If I could do it again I would do a longer trip ?

Vero offers great variety for inshore fishing and has quick access to the Ft Pierce inlet for those who want to go offshore.
