What would you recommend to anglers fishing in Port Washington, Wisconsin for the first time?

Come dressed for the weather, whether it be rain or cold. It was in the 40's when our boat left at 5 a.m. and in the 50's when our boat returned. It was sunny and if you dress in layers you should have a great experience. We caught our bag limits of Coho Salmon very quickly. Hiring an experience charter fishing trip makes catching fish in Lake Michigan a very easy, exciting and memorable experience!

It’s a great town but if you’re pulling your boat in to fish on your own, get to the launch early in the morning. Sam’s Bait Box is a 10 minute drive away and she has a lot of knowledge about what the hot bite is and what you can use to catch fish.

Port Washington is a very nice and unique town. It has so much to offer and is very clean. We make numerous trips to Port Washington and the surrounding town every year. There is something for everyone.

I hate canned surveys. Everyone worked hard and was ready to fish. The crew went the extra mile to put us on fish. It just didn't happen. The crew were professional in every aspect. My negative ratings are a result of not catching fish and not their services. I would gladly come back to Fish On.

Find a charter boat and from talking to others who had been fishing the same day as us, I would recommend going out either early morning (if you can find a sunrise charter out there) or do one that will keep you out til sunset because the fish really seemed to come alive as evening set in.

Usually the first week in June is the best time to fish. This spring was unusually cold and rainy, so the good fishing is about three weeks late. Next year might be totally different, but who knows? Thats why they call it "fishing" and not "catching"! The charter Captains cant make the fish bite or control the weather, But they WILL do the best they can to make the trip enjoyable!

Bring a jacket because it does get cooler on the water as evening falls. We gave our kids Dramamine just to be safe. The boat was rocking enough to make the kids sleepy after a long day.

Give yourself time to locate the parking and the slip. I recommend planning to have lunch in PW so you can have a relaxed start to your trip.

Bring some good adult beverages and get ready for the best fishing and a great time. You will not be disappointed...

Bring change for the parking meters. Not expensive for the day, but who carries change any longer?

Keep an eye on the Lake Michigan conditions. We were very fortunate to have had a majestic evening on the lake with calm conditions.

Stay at the Harborview Hotel. Really close to the Marina. Also, book your Charter with Hunt n Fish Charter. Best in town!

Said best time to fish is May and late fall cause the bite is crazy then. The fish move to deeper water in June.

Bring some warm clothes, it can get cold out on the big lake. Also bring sunglasses and sun screen. Expect to take a lot of pictures. Motion sickness pills are not a bad idea.

Try to come in the month of June or July. The weather in October is very unpredictable and high winds make the lake very tough to fish.

Really check the weather conditions, if you're prone to sea sickness (or even if you're not) make sure to try to schedule a trip with as little winds as possible.

Weather has been cold for June, so fish were not hitting the lines as much. But I stil enjoyed the trip and would recommend to anyone.

Great restaurants and lodging. Watch the weather forecasts and fishing reports and you should have a Great time.

June is perfect time to fish from Port Washington WI you will get a lot of action

Schooner’s Pub, great food, good prices. Take some time to enjoy the harbor walks.
