What would you recommend to anglers fishing in Kenosha, Wisconsin for the first time?

Watch the great lakes fishing reports on what time of day is best, and how the water temperatures and conditions are. We booked knowing they hadn't been biting much in a few days and that it was not an ideal time of day, but was what worked for our group. We could have easily tripled our catch by waiting a few days and doubled it by going early in the morning. Captain Steve taught us a lot, and we will be more experienced anglers next year.

I truly consider myself lucky to have been out on the Double Trouble charter boat on Saturday , 6/15/24, with Captain Mark and his first mate Anthony. I don't see how it things could have went any better. I've been salmon fishing Kenosha and Wakegan Harbors for 21yrs , but this was my first Salmon Charte Boat Outing and it topped my expectations!!

Get to fishing grounds as early as possible. No hits during final 2 hours of 6 hour charter that departed at 5:00 am

Dress for the weather...be open to just enjoying the experience no matter how many fish you catch.

Yes, I would highly recommend it. This was me and my buddies's first time Great Lake fishing. We had a great time and caught great fish is both size and quantity.

Stay and hit the boathouse after. We did not because we didn't plan anytime. We will next time for sure. looks awesome.

April/May is prime for fishing in Kenosha. But we did better than expected in September.

Be prepared for any type of weather and rough waters and wear pants because of the flies biting.

If the Captain gives you an option to leave early, do it. The early morning bite was hot.

Dress appropriately. Bring water and snacks. Appreciate the great resource and have fun.
