What would you recommend to anglers fishing in Austin, Texas for the first time?

Bundle up for the cold, especially when the boat is moving. Don’t worry so much about getting out in the early hours since the water stays cooler all day. Make sure to book with an experienced captain like Captain Matthew with Redemption to guide you!

As you'd expect, it's quite hot in the summer. But we had a great time and the heat didn't really bother us.

I am a novice but I think Austin fishing is fantastic and I think March may be breeding season?? Enjoy and go!

If it’s your first time on this lake or others in the area I would suggest that a guide is very beneficial.

Recommend only a two person trip when trip is for inexperienced fishermen. Allows for more instruction from guide.

We caught a dozen fish. It was very windy but the captain knew where to find fish.

Make sure the weather is consistent for at least two weeks to your fishing date.
