We had a great time; weather can be dramatic so be prepared for rain delays; white trout was the main catch that we could keep; caught lots of red grouper but they are out of season in July so had to put them back till September.

Sun protection, stay hydrated (bring your own drinks, that's a pretty common practice), bring a snack. Weather and seas can change pretty quickly despite what the forecast says. Keep in mind that your captain has no control of that.

I’m not a great fishermen so probably not an expert in giving advise but caught our limit on white snapper and the captain was kind enough to show me how to filet them as well (I asked him to) and got to have a tea hands-on experience which is what I’d hoped for since I haven’t done this much. He will also filet them himself while you go rest and wait if preferred.

If you are fishing after a big storm, motor out to clear waters and avoid the near shore/bay area.
