What would you recommend to anglers fishing in Montesano, Washington for the first time?

The month of October is a good time to catch fish however from week to week and even day to day is dependent on weather and the fish themselves. If you're not catching then at least take away the lessons and learning more from an experience guide, day to day fisherman. That'll make you better. I'm an experienced fisherman and I even walked away with something new the guide showed me on filleting the fish.

Captain Jim is very precessional. Great quality gear. Runs a tight ship. He is very knowledgeable of the river systems and knows how to put you on fish. We fished for two days and had a blast. Plan on booking again in the near future. The Captain can make it happen!!

DRESS WARM!! The weather in the morning is freezing in June still. Wear layers, bring a hat and gloves. Even if it's overcast wear Sunscreen!

Lots of people fishing the boat dock area due to hatchery. Lot of traffic around ramp.
