Strike one and our 14 year old angler out up a great battle with a 50lb plus wahoo today. A new personal best fish for him on light tackle. No sooner had we put the lures back in the water a second strike this time for his dad. Great start to the fight but eventually the fish shook the hook. Good day on the water

So the trip was for trolling and bait fishing. A mixed trip is always available. The weather here in maderia had been just so out of the ordinary. So we made the most of what we had. Trolled for 2 hours and did get two snatches from wahoo bit no hook up. So attention turned to bait fishing and we came home with a bucket full of fish. Triggerfish doing there thing and giving a good fight on light tackle. A family trip for new anglers . Everyone walked away happy. Fun trip!

Met with 2 lovely couples from US today for a birthday celebration trip. Keen anglers who love being on the water. We set off with the sunshining and put out a soread to include lures to attract both wahoo and tuna. Chatting and getting to know each other and of course keeping an eye on the lures it wasnt long before both Dan and myself noticed a rod twitch….on a second look the rod bent over and the reel started to scream off. Quickly clearing the lines Dan took charge and expertly reeled in a nice 45lb wahoo. Happy Birthday!! Unfortunately today the weather beefed up and we had to cut the trip short but everyone left with a smile and enough fish for a great supper or two.

Shortly after leaving the marina we had a tripple hit of wahoo. Landed 2 and lost the third. Another double strike saw yet another in the boat.

Young Olly whos a fabulously talented young angler returned to fish with again after a good trip this summer. This young man is going to be a talent in the sport. Takes everything in his stride and just knows exactly how to play a fish. Fish took just 20mins into the trip and olly was straigt in the chair and took charge whilst the other lines were cleared. He keep a tight line at all times and calmly brought the fish to the boat resulting in him landing his biggest fish to date. We had a second take later in the morning and also a nice mahi mahi which unfortunately shook the hooks.

Emily and Nico who are enjoying there belated honeymoon came for our evening tuna trip. Within half an hour we had a massive strike and Nico took the chair. Clipped in and fighting a fish…. Unfortunately 4 minutes into the fight the took a turn and a big run and the fish snapped off. Reset and lines back out 10 mins later bang another strike and the biggest run ive seen for a while. Almost soooked out we started backing down and this time it was Emily in the chair. Supporting her through it and a fight if an hour and 15mins she landed a fantastic 230lb yellowfin tuna. Girl power well done emily you were amazing. ?
