With the full moon and northeast wind the tide was extremely high this morning. We did and afternoon charter fishing the last of the outgoing. Trout were real active along the grass lines over the flooded oyster beds on live shrimp. The last hour or so of low tide we turned to luve finger mullet on a carolina rig and landed several mid slot reds fishing close to shore near oyster bars and run outs. It was a good trip.

Someone messaged me the other day about a fishing trip and asked if I thought we could catch fish after the hurricane. Sometimes it's hard to answer a question like that but after todays trip the answer is yes. The fall is a great time to fish.

This day was full of rod action but on the morning high tide was more for the jacks and lady fish, after the tide got a little lower the redfish action turned on. The mangroves also bit well with the cleaner water. As a bonus we jumped a big tarpon that ate a small piece of cut mullet. After about 3 jumps it shook the weighted jig head and went about his way. Tight lines everyone!

Bad weather is expected over the next couple days from Hurricane Helene. We squeezed in a 6 hour trip to fish the incoming tide. Fishing was great. Limit of mangroves caught in the first hour then off to redfishing that paid off with some live finger mullet. The waters still a little dirty and Im sure the forecasted rainfall isn't gonna help. Tight lines!

Despite the weeks of rain and all the dirty water the redfish are still biting on the low incoming tide. We are finally seeing some cleaner water starting to replace the brown rain water but theres a BIG storm approaching Fl. That will dump more rain. As far as the mullet run, theres some pretty good schools but not as good as the last few weeks. Tip of the day. Live finger mullet but clip the tail to make it bleed for scent while the water is dirty.

We finally got a little sunshine this weekend. The mullet run is still strong and even though the water is dirty from all the rain the fish are still biting. See ya on the water.
