The weather is a little unpredictable in April, but anytime you can go out on the water and fish is great.

Be prepared for weather changes and be flexible. You’ll have a great time in any case

Watch the wind and waves for offshore conditions if too rough stay inshore.

Just come have a good time and catch some great fish. Find a restaurant to cook your catch too.

We got some small fish but it was still so fun! Definitely will come back to the Keys for a more in season time for bigger fish!

I’m not from the Keys, so I only gave it a good review because I don’t know how great it really can be.

Just talk to the captain about your experience and expectations and just remember the captain cannot change the weather conditions.

The weather was impeccable. April weather is certainly the best. Not too hot. We were able to enjoy ourselves without sweating. Absolute perfection.

I brought 2 never fished adults and they taught them everything with patience.

Book a 3/4 or full day trip. 1/2 day is too short with the commute to the fishing area

At first we booked this trip without targeting something specific so we could maybe catch a little bit of everything, but our captain suggested us tarpon because we wanted something with action and it was a good time to target them. It didn’t disappoint! Amazing experience like nothing else!

Don’t expect to always catch a huge amount of fish. The fishing is not like it used to be. You are lucky to catch a few. Tell Capt if u prefer to catch to eat or catch for fun /size. That matters.

Book the whole day, it took close to 45 minutes to get on the fishing spots so a 4 hour trip would not give you as much time to fish. Be open and listen to your captains as they are very knowledgeable. I’ve fished freshwater species but this was my first time in saltwater and there are differences I had to make but they coached me through it. Great experience.

April is windy so be ready for some lumpy days and even weather cancellations

We have fished on a charter from Stock Island before and had great catches. We like the marina here.

Really check out the guides before you commit. We've had some losers. It's kind of hard to do long distance; we are from Montana. On our trip, late April 2024, it was a cooler than normal spring evidently. Luckily, the water temp worked out. April is an awesome month to come out. The weather is great, the water is warm, fishing is like no other.
