Trip Summary

This was a rare afternoon trip but with my customers having to drive 3 hours from the NC Mountains to fish with me, it worked out just fine. We boated numerous Blue catfish up to 20 lbs and so we many perch we lost count at 100+. Not a bad summertime afternoon trip considering the heat index from 1-5 when we fished was well over 100 degrees.

2 of my regular customers had an AWESOME Saturday of cat-fishing this past weekend. We boated 21 Catfish with 4 over the 20 lb mark plus numerous other cat fish in the 10-15 lb range. We also caught over 100 white perch just for fun while waiting for the big cats to bite. Given the Heat Index was 105 and the boat traffic was horrendous, we felt like catching 21 nice catfish was a pretty impressive morning of fishing for July. I guess that's why these guys fish with me about 2X a month year round.

Another great morning of Cat fishing with the Carolina Angler this morning with all 3 species of catfish boated today - Flathead, Blue Catfish and Channel cats. We also lost count of the white perch #'s after we hit 150. Needless to say the white perch bite is on Fire on Lake Wylie this summer.
