DIVINE PROVIDENCE: When Faith breaks
DIVINE PROVIDENCE: When Faith breaks
February 11, 2026
A day without an agenda that ended in glory. There are mornings that begin with a whisper in the soul. Although we did not have a scheduled departure, we arrived at the dock early, complying with the routine of those who love their job. Our faith told us that the day would not end in silence, and so it was: Providence put us on the road to a couple who came from a difficult streak at sea. What they did not know is that their luck was about to change aboard the Mathis. ✨ The afternoon was, once again, a lesson in temper. The wind was blowing with a force that discouraged anyone, and the reports coming from other excursions were discouraging. But after an honest analysis between the Captain and our visitors, we decided that the Pacific still had a gift for us. Here comes the good thing: Just an hour after releasing moorings, defying the wind and the odds, the chicharra broke the wind. We crowned the first Sailfish of the afternoon in record time! An epic task that reminded us that, when experience joins with faith, the results are not long in coming. Fishing Report: The "Last-Minute" Miracle • Technique: High-Wind Precision Trolling • Location: Costa Rican Pacific • The Vibe: Faith-driven, strategic, and triumphant. The Result: • 1 Majestic Sailfish: Hooked and released within the first hour. • The Victory: Success where others found empty reels. • The Lesson: Always be ready. When the "Provider" calls, the sea responds. #FaithFishing #SailfishCostaRica #MathisLegends #AgainstTheWind #PuraVida #SportfishingLife #DivineTiming #AnglerApproved #CostaRicaAdventure

THE RIDDLES OF THE PACIFIC: A Strange
THE RIDDLES OF THE PACIFIC: A Strange
February 10, 2026
When the ocean plays hide and seek. The sea has afternoons that cannot be explained with graphs or radars. There are times when the air feels different and the fish decide to follow their own rules. While other boats remained on the dock or returned empty-handed after difficult days, we went out to look for the answer that only water can give. ♂️ It was not the afternoon of the "big numbers", but the afternoon of the great battles. The protagonist was a lonely Amberjack, a reef warrior who fought every inch of line with a fury that reminded us why they call him the "Reef Brawler". Although our guests had their eyes on other trophies, this fierce fighter was in charge of saving the honor of the day. However, the Pacific had prepared a dose of frustration for us: the Roosterfish. Little ghosts from the coast that flanked the boat, stalked the bait and, with an almost mischievous cunning, took the loot without getting hooked. They left us with honey on our lips and the silent crack, a "shadow dance" that only makes us hungrier for tomorrow. We go to port grateful; because on a bad day for the rest, we continue to extract stories from the abyss. Fishing Report: The Tactical Afternoon * Technique: Bottom Fishing & Live Bait Teasing * Location: Coastal Transition, Costa Rica * The Vibe: Mysterious, challenging, and honest. The Result: * 1 Amberjack: A respectable, hard-fighting reef dweller. * The "Almosts": Multiple Roosterfish sightings that kept the adrenaline high, even if they won the game of wits this time. * The Context: Still producing results while the fleet stays quiet. #FishingReality #AmberjackBattle #RoosterfishTease #MathisLegends #CostaRicaFishing #PuraVida #CaptainLog #SportfishingHonesty #TheOceanDecides

THE GOLDEN AMBUSH: Drama at
THE GOLDEN AMBUSH: Drama at "El 26"
February 10, 2026
When persistence meets the Queen of the Deep. The morning took us to the coordinates of "El 26", a spot where the reef and the current tell different stories every day. We started looking for glory in the deep blue, where a Sailfish defied our lines; it was a fleeting encounter, a quick pique that failed to materialize, leaving us with honey on our lips and our gaze fixed on the horizon. ✨ But in Mathis Fishing Legends, we know that the sea rewards those who return for more. We decided to give the area a second chance, drawing precision circles on the reef. It was then that the long line burst: a beautiful female Mahi-Mahi, of about powerful 30 pounds, jumped to the attack with an impressive chromatic ferocity. The show didn't end there. While we were fighting with the "Golden Queen," two more companions escorted their fight, swimming curiously to the very side of the boat. Seeing those green and yellow flashes under the hull is a reminder of the richness of our waters. Although they decided not to bite this time, they left us with a rapid pulse for the constant trolling back home. Fishing Report: The Reef’s Reward * Technique: Precision Trolling * Location: "El 26" Reef Spot, Costa Rica * The Vibe: Tactical, high-color action, and reef mystery. The Catch of the Day: * 1 Trophy Mahi-Mahi: 25-30 lbs of pure golden muscle. * The Tease: 2 Mahi-Mahi followers and 1 Sailfish strike (The ones for next time!). #MahiMahi #DoradoFishing #El26Spot #CostaRicaFishing #MathisLegends #SportfishingLife #PuraVida #ReefAction #AnglerApproved
