The Catch
Black Drum

Change of venue to Everglades City this week.  Worked our way out through a maze of mangrove islands, fought a wicked low winter tide but made our way out the Gulf on this 3/4 day charter!  Worked a tight creek creek with good moving water just off of Demijohn key and it didn’t take long before Sheepshead and Black drum gave us chance at sight casting!  We sight casted and landed the first fish of the trip within the first 10 minutes of the charter.. It was awesome to spot, cast to and land fish on light tackle gear- my client said!  We worked Demijohn with the new sleek IRT 300 PG prototype, rigged with 20 lb POWERPRO braid, 40lb mono leader with a jig tipped with fresh shrimp.. we also landed a few sheepshead and one drag smoking bonnet head shark!  We switched tactics and headed deep into Fakahatchee bay (one of my all time favorites) but the action was not there on this day!  We closed the charter by finding two slot Spot tail (Red drum) near moving water and tight to a mangrove shoreline near lane cove.  Most fish were caught on natural baits some on mirroDine plugs, not many opportunities were had with fly gear!

Book with us today, some dates left before and after Christmas!
