Jack Attack (amber jack) 6 hr offshore

Trip Summary

Live bait was all but impossible today. Looked all over the place and found very few livies. Went out to jig up some and a friend on another charter boat that had found some pulled up and souveniered me a double handful of small baits to add to the few we had jigged up. He then began to live chum with them. The AJ's were on fire. We baited up and with his permission joined in the fun. We were using 20# spinning gear catching 15 to 25# amberjack. This was sight fishing at it's finest. Pick which you want and pitch a bait to him. If he didn't eat it the one next to him would. After we limited (one per person) we released a couple and moved on to troll with the ones we jigged up and some strip baits (bonita belly strips). We released a couple sharks and a BIG 'Cuda (35+#s) and called it a day as the kings were not co-operating for anyone. Great fishing with Angel and his crew, look forward to their next trip.
