Trip Summary
Yesterday we did a 8 hour ocean trip with very good results. We left the dock at 6:30 AM, and ran to some structure offshore in 50 feet of water. Drifting across the structure we had a steady pick of fluke, sea bass which were released, croaker, and weakfish also released. We moved a little further out trying to find larger fluke, and continued a steady pick of similar size fish. After hitting several more pieces of ocean bottom we returned to our original location, dropped the anchor, and started to chum for shark. It took a couple to hours to get the shark to the boat, but once they arrived it was game on. We ended up boating 2 brown's, 4 dusky, 2 black tip all of which were released. In addition, we had a couple more run-offs that did not hook-up. Our charter was able to take a 19" fluke and five croaker home for dinner. The ocean started to get a little sporty by noon, and we returned to the dock at 2:30 PM.
