We went out with Mr Nigel who is one of our regular customers for his third trip of this holiday.On the first trip we lost an estimated 600lbs blue marlin who took a lure.After some acrobatic moves the fish got the hook away and got free.We finished our day with 1 bonito only.Second day was very quiet we did not catch any fish but saw a big family of sperm whales and lots of spinner dolphins.With reports of many marlin strikes the day before our third trip,our plan was to get a fresh bonito for livebaiting.We had two bonitos on just an hour into the trip but lost one close to the boat.We started live baiting and about 1 hour later we had a Marlin strike with the hot fish racing after the boat.Afterwards the fish stayed deep which was quite unusual for a blue marlin.After a lot of tactical moves from the crew and sweat from the angler we managed to get the fish to the boat within one hour.It wasn't Mr Nigel's first marlin with us but the 425 lbs blue marlin was a much appreciated Christmas gift.
