Trip Summary
I’m scratching my head trying to figure out when these flatties are going to bite! One day they bite strong before high tide, the next day they bite strong after high tide. The water is 63 degrees one day and 66 degrees the next day…still cold by August standards. There are some KEEPers around, but ya gotta pay attention to every tug. Gulp works great in pink color, but sea bass are swarming them, so it gets expensive at $7-$8 a bag for six or eight. Water clarity is OK, not great. Current and wind must be compared to find ideal foshing spots or you’ll be drifting at a too fast 3-miles per hour. To catch, your captain must do some homework and consider all these factors.
