Trip Summary
Trip Summary
Greetings A2 Fans.
Our weather pattern has improved, and the gulf storms have helped cool our waters- this was much needed! With that, our water temps are better, our tides are higher, and the fishing is much improved! Recent trips have brought speckled trout, good numbers of Snook, Redfish and other sought-after gamefish.
On a recent trip we worked our way deep into Florida bay from Key Largo and worked the morning hours for the beautiful and underrated Speckled trout. In short order and while the morning was still cool, we boated a quick limit of trout with a few heavy hitters in the 20 in. class.
We worked our way west and focused on our boat limit of Redfish. Although the sharks had other plans, we managed two slot fish after losing one to a resident bull shark.
Once the onboard cooler held a trout and redfish limit, we shifted to tripletail and Tarpon! We managed a few short Tripletails and found a healthy school of Tarpon, none of which cared for our baits :(
We enjoyed a beautiful boat ride through Florida Bay and into Key Largo!
