4 Hour nearshore
December 28, 2023 Belleair Bluffs 1 photo

Trip Summary

As December winds down and the water slowly gets cooler the nearshore bite has been awesome. We should expect to see more of the deep water species of Grouper (Gag and Red) to show up at the nearshore reefs and wrecks in January. We have had a few Yellowtail Snapper show up around the 8 mile mark. There are tons of Grunts and Mangrove Snapper as well as some Black Sea Bass showing up. Keep an eye on the bottom machine to mark schools of bait and there should be plenty of fish underneath to keep you busy. The Sheephead are a popoular catch on some of the jetties and rock piles so bring plenty of shrimpor fidler crabs with you. There are plenty of fish out there to keep you busy once you are able to locate them. Dress warm and get out on the water with Captian Matt and he will put you on the fish.
