First Trip of 2024!

Trip Summary

Shaking off the cobwebs, Capt. Chris took out a wonderful family for a Memorial Day Weekend fish’n trip. This time of the year can be sketchy for catching because our weather is unsettled. Water temps fluctuate (fish get lockjaw) and run-off from rain causes water clarity to degrade (fish can’t see as much). We hunted in Kennedy Park and not a hit, so we moved closer to the inlet where water was much clearer and tide was going out. We dropped different rigs, diff. colored rubber baits and diff. live baits. We fished some areas that were away from the fleet and hooked a bunch of throwbacks while dodging notorious holiday weekend warriors. The sky was gorgeous, the sun was bright and wind hardly blew. It was a great trip!
