Trip Summary
November nearshore fishing is hot right now. There is still plenty of bait to be found along the flats and around the ICW markers. The bonito and mackerel are thick along the hard bottom just off the beach up to 9 miles out. Just look for the birds and you are sure to find them. The bait of choice is either a spoon or something small with a lot of flash. The water temp is still a bit high near shore for the big kings, but they are there if you look. The bottom bite is fantastic and the red grouper and gag grouper are showing up in good numbers. The season is closed for both but the are a great catch. There are plenty of grunt, triggerfish, and mangrove snapper along the reef edges. No sign of red tide out at 8 miles off of Pinellas county out of Clearwater. Let's get out there and catch some fish.
