Wahoo season has come early this year. On this trip we trolled south from the Puerto Aventuras marina down towards Tulum and hit some action early on. Cut into medium-sized blocks, and interspersed with peppers, onion and pineapple, wahoo makes delicious eating on skewers cooked over a slow fire. Life can not get better than this! While it is low season for billfish, and wahoo are only starting to make their appearance, we continue to go out to sea in search of some action. Our crews have been fishing the southern Riviera Maya coastline for more than 15 years. If there is action out there, they will find it!

This group hit Mahi Mahi action big time! As we near the end of peak season for these great fighting fish, it is a rare treat to hook so many during one single 4-hour afternoon private fishing charter. Mahi Mahi are available year-round in the Riviera Maya, with their peak season occurring from late spring to early fall (approximately May through July/August), driven by warmer waters and increased baitfish. While they are still caught outside of these months, the abundance and consistency are lower during the less peak periods, such as January to February and October to December. Always a pleasure to be out at sea along the southern Riviera Maya coastline.
